A distinguished educationist and the former Director of the Presidency Group of Schools, Bangalore/Mangalore. Dr G. Thangadurai is a seasoned administrator, a prolific writer, an eloquent speaker & a commendable teacher.
His academic achievements are exhaustive. Having received his formal Education from a
Jesuit School(shades of Loyola, St.Xaviers and St Joseph Group of schools) in Bihar, he
obtained a double postgraduate degree in English and economics from the University of Madras. He has also received a PG degree in Education and a PG certificate in teaching English from English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad. He has completed the Strategic Leadership Program from IIM-Ahmedabad. He has led student delegations to the Round Square Conferences in London, Scotland, and Indore and headed an educational excursion to the USA.
After serving an eventful stint in a reputed school in Bihar, Odisha, followed by a laudable tenure in the Reliance Group Schools, then in Muscat for two years, he joined the Presidency Group in 2008 as its Director and revolutionised it with novel exclusive programs on Information and Communication Technology, mentoring students, leadership training and Teacher Development. He has been with the educational industry for four decades.
Dr Thangadurai’s feats include guiding Presidency School to receive the prestigious International School Award from the British Council in a ceremony organised in Chennai. He has also been recognised by the reputed MNC, Microsoft and awarded in recognition of the school’s achievement as a Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator. He has received numerous awards, including the Outstanding Teacher Award from Presidency University.
Sri. Kapil Dev, Padma Bhushan awardee and former captain of the World Cup-winning
Indian cricket team, facilitated Dr Thangadurai for his contributions to Education at
BJEMS Bhubaneshwar during its Golden Jubilee Celebration on December 18, 2023.
He has authored books and is keen on innovating educational transactions. His steadfast dedication and remarkable contribution as a teacher earned him the Dr.G.Thangadurai prestigious National Award on September 5, 2002, from the then President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
He has been conferred with an honorary Doctorate for his immense contribution to the
field of Education.
He conducted training programmes for students, teachers, and principals in various parts of India with more than 7000 participants.
After retiring from regular service in Education, he completed the Plate Number 1:2015
Lead Auditor (Quality Management System) Training Course. He was recently
recognised for creating 500 designs on Canva, marking a significant achievement in his
design journey. A YouTuber has posted innumerable educational themes, storytelling, and video bites on leadership skills. He is an enthusiastic photographer with a passion
for bird photography.
He is now the CEO of Anay Academy, Bangalore, and an Educational Consultant and
Trainer. As the Managing Director of TD Educational & Charitable, he takes up
philanthropic projects that bring together educational, financial, and technical resources
to address students’ and teachers’ challenges by providing support and mentorship.
